First Night, First Day (Catch Up Series)

Being weeks past the first night and day at home, the day is actually slipping from my memory (October 27, 2015)!  As soon as we arrived home, we were greeted by a homemade dinner that my mom had already been preparing knowing that we'd be arriving home.  It actually felt wonderfully normal to bring the girls inside and sit down in a familiar space.  We changed the girls and though I was sure they would sleep in their sleep rockers, I wanted to place them in their cribs as a novelty.

Audrey and Mikayla were so very tiny and almost lost in their cribs!  Needless to say we quickly moved them to their much more size appropriate rockers. :) I think I got very little sleep this night but not because they were feeding or hungry but more so because I was hypersensitive and was worried that anything and everything was going to happen to them!

And We're Outta There! (Catch Up Series)

Since our baby girls were wonderfully and beautifully healthy, as was I thanks to God, we were more than ready to head home once being discharged on Tuesday afternoon!  I never understood why new moms were so ready and even seemed hurried to leave the hospital after having a baby!  I always thought that I'd be more comfortable and confident with 'professionals'! LOL!  Turns out all they do in the hospital is bother the crap out of you.  Whether it be to check your vitals, introduce themselves during shift changes, bringing you your sweet babes to feed them or bringing them into the room because there is a test that needs to be administered and they'd like for you to be present (I.e.: hearing assessment), hospital staff is in and out of your room about every 1-2 hours!  I now laugh when I hear others being advised to "rest as much as possible" because it's literally impossible to do.
