Happy 1 Month My Loves ("Catch Up" Series)

Happy one month my Mikayla and Audrey!!!  Thanks to God for our angel babies and their perfect health!!!  They are growing so quickly; I'm just trying to soak it all in while not getting lost in the schedule of eating, sleeping, feedings... and that's just their schedule! :)

Audrey - You are already showing us your fighting personality!  You are so strong and stubborn headed... I wonder where you get that from?!? LOL You watch everything that is going on around you and we love the way you look at us like you're studying our faces as to not forget them. :) We love you so!

Mikayla - You are already showing you sweet side by way of smiles!  You have started smiling, usually during breastfeeding sessions with mommy!  Although we see you looking at everything around you, trying to learn what is what and who is who, it's less intense than your sister.  You do not cry often because you usually just let your sister cry for the both of you! :) You're being such a great older sister; we love you so!

Teddy Bear Twins ("Catch Up" Series)

My sweet little teddy bear babies!  I mean seriously... how adorable are our baby girls?!?!

I'm in love... be still my heart!

4 Generations Strong, 4 Generations Blessed ("Catch Up" Series)

On November 21st, my grandmother was able to visit from Brownsville, TX!  She was able to meet her great-granddaughters while she was here!  It was amazing to see my grandmother holding my daughters.  The girls were 4 weeks old and were so content being held by her, although she was quite nervous! It had been a long while since she had held such young babies!

We were so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to snap this picture...

3 Weeks Old ("Catch Up" Series)

My sweet girls are three weeks old! We are still getting NO sleep, LOL, but life is beginning to settle down and we seem to be getting in some kind of a routine.  I am feeling so much better than I did during week one and two.  It no longer takes me 15-20 minutes to use the restroom which is amazing!  It's the little things I tell ya! :) I always loved the calming affect of a good, hot shower before the girls came but now... I swear they have healing powers!  After a good shower, I feel like I can conquer the world! LOL!  It's true!  I am off all of my pain medications and muscle relaxers so I am feeling tender and, of course, still be very careful with every move I make... whether it be from sitting down or 'hopping' into bed!  I am constantly stressed over taking in the most calories possible!  I am burning so many calories with breastfeeding the girls and since I lost quite a bit of weight immediately after the girls, it is vital for me to take in more than I'm putting out in the form of milk for the girls.  I try to eat things high in protein and healthy calories.  I am eating a lot of dairy products, protein bars and protein shakes.  Thanks to God for my sister and mom!  They have been making us meals and bringing them to either eat then and there or to freeze for later!  It's such a big help and a nice break from fast food although a never turn down Chick-fil-a! :)

2 Weeks Old ("Catch Up Series")

My sweet angel babies... Thanks to God for these gifts!  I have done nothing worthy of being a mother to Mikayla and Audrey, however in God's eyes I'm not only worthy and deserving but also capable.

First Bath ("Catch Up" Series)

Eek!  Mikayla and Audrey's first bath!  Mike and I were excited and nervous!  It was almost two weeks after the girls were born that there belly button fell off and we were therefore now able to bath them.  We began bathing the girls in the sink, and truth be told we are still bathing the girls over the sink, because they were too tiny to even consider bathing them elsewhere.  For some ridiculous reason, Mike and I thought it would be a great idea if we bathed Mikayla and Audrey at the same time.  This was a HORRIBLE idea! LOL

So with two newborn bath sponges, two washcloths, baby hair/body wash, two hooded towels and two VERY nervous parents... we jumped right in! Our sweet baby girls were so wiggly and slippery! LOL!  Mikayla was content and seemed a bit unsure if she liked the whole bath routine or not but was calm anyways.  Audrey, on the other hand, pretty much cried from the beginning to the end of her bath.  Since we washed them at the same time... this had us needing to dry, change and lotion them up at the exact same time!  Not smart. LOL!  These days we have a much more efficient routine. Mike is usually at the sink with the girls bathing them one at a time and hands them off to me in the nursery where I change them into their pajamas and everything else!
